Adjutant’s Minutes:

August’s minutes were distributed for motion to accept minutes as published, motion 2nd and passed by member’s vote.

Quarter Master’s report:

Quarter Master cited the August’s activities and subsequent totals. 25% of what was made on the Muskego Pub Crawl will be allocated to truck maintenance fund. Fishing with the Vets for next year (2018) is at $213.87. Tony Fischer assigned in get Elaine Popp a brick for the memorial grounds by Veterans Day. Bill was going through the old Quarter Master’s briefcase and stumbled across $131.25 that will be deposited before the next meeting. Commander requested that the Quarter Master purchase dollar pull tabs from Wisconsin Lottery as the VFW has depleted their current stock at St. Clare’s street fair. Motion was made to accept the report, subject to audit, motion 2nd and passed by member’s vote.

Communication:

Donny had a Go Fund Me account for fishing with the Vets 2017 that he closed out. $403.16 will be placed in next year’s fishing with the Vets 2018. Also, the previous lake property owners (Coopers) donated $500.00, which brings the total to $903.16.
Head of Union Grove Recreation called Donny to notify him that Veterans in power wheelchairs cannot go on boats as it is a liability when transporting heavy weight from the dock to the boats.
Commander received a letter from Military & Veterans Resource Center at UW-Milwaukee that they will be hosting their 4th annual Military & Veteran Ball Friday, November 03, 2017, 1800-2300. If anyone is interested in attending, tickets cost $40 per student Veterans, $60 per Veterans, and $75 per non-Veterans. Tickets can be purchased at www.vetball.eventbrite.com. Location: Hilton Milwaukee City Center 509 West Wisconsin Avenue Milwaukee, WI 53203

During the St Clare street fair, the Commander was speaking to an Eagle Scout who we thought was the recipient of our donation for last month. Well the Eagle Scout that the VFW donated to last month was intended for Muskego VFW not Wind Lake VFW. Therefore, for the future leaders of the community we as an organization will not be asking for the money back. As for the Eagle Scout that we are the parent of the VFW is donating $150 plus pass the hat of $108.76, combined total $258.76.
TACOM approved the VFW to obtain blanks, and was supplied with training manual for the M1’s
Two ammo cases of blanks will be delivered to the Commanders on September 21, 2017

Therefore, Phil brought over two deuces to the old K-Mart parking lot to attract the publics eyes.
Quarter Master’s received notification from State VFW on rifle inventory policy. Must provide annual M1 inventory to State VFW by December 31st each year and to TACOM every three years.
Commander informed the members that South Milwaukee VFW never merged with Hales Corners
Since we are current with VFW inventory, there is possibility for static displays in the future

Standing Committee report:

Building committee Ky Fitzgerald has finalized the fundraising brochures, just need to print, and post to the VFW site. Thoughts are to utilize post master fleet of mail trucks to slip in one of our flyers in the weekly ads. If the option is available both fair and reasonable, this could save the VFW a lot of leg work.
Approvals for flyer and building goes through Racine County

Furthermore, Muskego American Legion Commander does not see any issues hanging banners during the Muskego Parade.

Good of the Order:

One of our Korean Post members Robert Gauder requested his membership card for the year since it was not received. Commander investigated this matter by calling the dues processing center; come to find out the member was in the rears, commander then paid remaining balance. Lastly, Robert Gauder would like to ride in one of the parades that the Post participates in.
FRAGO on beer tab for VFW meetings, there will be no beer tab. Thus, members will pay for their own beverage in an effort to save VFW funds.
With all the back-ground noise at Post meetings from Kelly’s music, members propose that meetings begin at 1800hrs. versus 1900hrs.
